Christus Victor
This Sunday our music team will be introducing a new song for us to proclaim the glorious grace of God focusing on Christ the Victor.
“Christus Victor is the element of the atoning work of Christ that emphasizes the triumph of Christ over the evil powers of the world, through which he rescues his people and establishes a new relationship between God and the world.”
As we study the end of Mark, we are seeing Jesus march to the cross. When Christ said with his final breath, “It is finished”, we know that was the farthest thing from defeat….it was total victory!
Listen, watch and sing along over the next couple days in order to prepare for our time together on Sunday morning. Thanks for making Sunday mornings a priority to be with God’s people! This is one of the many marks of our unity in the Gospel of Jesus. See you Sunday morning!
Christus Victor (Amen)

O Most High, King of the ages
Great I AM, God of wonders
By the blood You have redeemed us
Led us through mighty waters
Our strength, our song, our sure salvation

Now to the Lamb upon the throne
Be blessing, honor, glory, power
For the battle You have won
Hallelujah
Amen
Verse 2
O Most High, dwelling among us
Son of Man sent for sinners
By Your blood You have redeemed us
Spotless Lamb, mighty Savior
Who lived, who died, who rose victorious
Chorus
Now to the Lamb upon the throne
Be blessing, honor, glory, power
For the battle You have won
Hallelujah
With every tribe and every tongue
We join the anthem of the angels
In the triumph of the Son
Hallelujah
Amen
Verse 3
O Most High, King of the nations
Robed in praise, crowned with splendor
On that day who will not tremble?
When You stand, Christ the Victor
Who was, and is, and is forever

Be blessing, honor, glory, power
For the battle You have won

Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen

Lit!
Why read? What does the Bible have to say about reading books? Perhaps you’ve wondered if there was any value in reading anything other than the Bible. What about fiction, and the numerous non-fiction options available? How do you decide what to read and when to read it? All these questions, and many more, are addressed in Tony Reinke’s book, Lit! A Christian Guide To Reading Books.
Reading To The Glory of Christ
In his book, Lit! A Christian Guide To Reading Books, author Tony Reinke carefully develops a theology of books and reading, looking to Scripture to inform our perspective. He then proceeds to offer practical advice on book reading to help us become better readers for the glory of Christ.
Lit! A Christian Guide To Reading Books - Tony Reinke
You can order Reinke’s book online, or swing by the church bookstore and grab a copy. Find a friend or someone from church to read through the book together and share what you are learning. Or better yet, come join us at 8:30am on Saturday, March 28th at the Mill St. Cafe to discuss the book together. Let this exercise serve as an opportunity to help us learn to grow together and encourage one another to read to the glory of Christ.
Come And See
Come spend a Saturday morning with the Pastors of Grace Hill to learn more about the church and the Biblical values of membership. Childcare will be provided for those who need it, and lunch will be served at the conclusion of our time together.
Saturday, April 25th | 9:00am
Our time together will be structured around the values we share. They don’t explain everything about us, but they do provide benchmarks for you to further explore our doctrine and practices. Please feel free to ask your questions during the seminar (and following). Nothing is off-limits or out of bounds. We want to help you understand us. This seminar is for you.
What are the values of GHC and Why they matter
After completing the Membership Seminar, you will have the option of pursuing church membership. We recognize that not everyone is ready for this step and if this describes you, please continue to engage in the life of our church with no expectations. You are welcome here.
Pray For Your Pastors
The pastors of Grace Hill Church meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month to pray for the church, discuss a variety of church related issues, and plan for the future of Grace Hill Church. Though they do this twice a month (sometimes more often when needs arise), they are unable do any of this alone and would greatly covet your prayers.
Please pray for wisdom, unity, and the grace to lead.
Please pray that God would conform them more to Christ’s image.
Please pray that God would equip them to give of their time and energy to serve the church.
Please pray for God to raise up new pastors.
Book Club
Join us as we read one book a month, gather over coffee to discuss what we’ve learned, and encourage one another’s growth as readers. All of our reading selections will be announced one month in advance. We will make a few of the books available at the church bookstore or you can simply order your copy online.
There is no commitment and no official method to join. Everyone is invited to jump in and read any (or all) of the books that interest them. For those that want to go a little deeper, we will plan to meet at the Mill Street Cafe in North Lake on the final Saturday of each month to enjoy a morning together and discuss the book from that month.

Ezra Initiative
The Ezra Initiative is a collection of men from GHC who share a mutual desire to learn and grow in their ability to preach God’s Word. The primary objective of the “Ezra Initiative” will be to learn and encourage one another to be competent preachers of God’s Word.
“Preach you Christ, and Christ, and Christ, and Christ, and nothing else but Christ.” -Charles H. Spurgeon
Through this process these men will gain a deeper appreciation for the preaching process and perhaps a renewed joy to preach His Word. They will meet monthly, read varous preaching resources, regularly evaluate one another, and help each other grow as preachers of God’s Word.
“For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach his statutes and ordinances in Israel.”
Please pray for these men as they embark on this endeavor to glorify Christ as they learn to handle His precious Word and communicate it effectively to God’s people. Pray that God would continue to raise up individuals who hunger for God’s Word and desire to preach the Gospel of Jesus boldly.
Peter, Part II
We are gearing up to start our next men’s and women’s study this Spring. This coming March we will embark on a four week study through the second letter written by the Apostle Peter. Though brief, this letter is saturated with Jesus, our enduring hope in the midst of suffering.
Youth Night
Our next youth night will be Saturday, February 14th from 4-8pm hosted at GHC. We will engage in an epic Mario Kart tournament and take advantage of all the snow by sledding down our hills. We will share a meal and continue our study asking “Tough Questions About Christianity.” This month's question is "How can a loving God send people to hell?" Please read Chapter 10 “How Can You Believe In Heaven And Hell?” in your books in preparation for our study and bring along any questions that you have.
Saturday, February 14th | 4-8pm
We currently meet once a month to learn and grow. Every meeting is different. Sometimes it's a party. Sometimes it's a service project. Often we have deep theological conversations. 7th-12th graders from inside and outside the church are welcome to join.
How Can We Pray?
Life is filled with both blessings and difficulties. One of the ways God amplifies our joys and comforts us in our sorrows is through one another’s prayers. Submitting our prayer requests to the church is just one of the many ways our members are equipped to pray for the needs in our body. It’s also an opportunity to love one another by going to our Lord regularly in prayer throughout the week.
How Can We Pray?
Do you have an upcoming surgery or procedure? Did you or a loved one recently receive a difficult diagnosis? What has God been doing in your life that we can celebrate together? Are you on the hunt for a job?
While we continue to encourage you to gather regularly for prayer during small groups and our corporate gatherings on Sunday mornings, we remain committed to pursuing additional opportunities to call God’s people towards unity in prayer. We invite and encourage you to join us at 9:00am to call upon the Lord.
Sundays at 9am
Submit your requests on Church Center and let the members of Grace Hill Church know how they can bring your needs before the throne of God. Once we receive your request, they will be added to the prayer list on Church Center
