The Sweetest Treat

Fall festivities are upon us. Our neighbors have begun venturing out to take part in all that the holiday season has to offer, including navigating the streets with their children dressed in costumes to collect an abundance of candy!

Our Neighbors Are Out

Historically Halloween is a celebration of the end of harvest and the beginning of winter, which involved lighting bonfires and wearing costumes. The name "Halloween" itself comes from the Christian feast of “All Hallows' Eve,” a day before “All Saints' Day,” which incorporated many older traditions. Today, Halloween has evolved into a modern celebration focused on fun activities like trick-or-treating, wearing costumes, and carving jack-o-lanterns.

Right To Your Door

Regardless of what you think of Halloween, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with our neighbors, some of which we may rarely see throughout the year. Yet in the next few days those people we rarely see will take to the streets and may even come right up to your door! This is one cultural tradition that brings communities together and gives us an incredible opportunity to forge relationships with our neighbors and hopefully one day offer them the sweetest treat of all, the gift of God’s Son.
