Love Your Church

What is the local church? With all the options available online that allow us to watch church services and listen to pastor’s sermons, why would we even consider meeting in person? Why would anyone waste their time becoming a member of a local church? What are the benefits and joys of belonging to a local body of believers? How do we really and tangibly love the church?

Love Your Church

In his book, Love Your Church, author Tony Merida highlights what he considers to be Scriptures eight great reasons to be a church member. He does this by focusing our attention on the following eight verbs: Belonging, Welcoming, Gathering, Caring, Serving, Honoring, Witnessing, and Sending.

Love Your Church - Tony Merida

You can order Merida’s book online, or swing by the church bookstore and grab a copy. Find a friend or someone from church to read through the book together and share what you are learning. Let this exercise serve as an opportunity to help us learn to grow together and encourage one another to love the local church.

Come Know & Be Known

The local church: A place where your pastors are more than just a voice you hear from a distant stage. A place where you can call or text your pastors at any hour. A place where you can share meals in member’s homes and engage in life-changing living room discussions. A place were everyone knows your name. A place to know Christ and to be known by Him.

Know and Be Known

A local church is where you know your pastors, and your pastors know you. One relational mark of our Chief Shepherd, Jesus, was that his sheep not only knew his voice but that their shepherd knew them. We expect nothing less for our local church, than to follow the model of Jesus.

More Than A Voice From Stage

The local church is a place where men and women know one another, exhort one another, care for one another, and love one another. Many of the commands given throughout Scripture are nearly impossible to fulfill if we simply do not know one another. So we make it our ambition to know and be known.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. - John 10:27

Partners For The Gospel

On Monday night, Grace Hill Church formally became partners with the churches of Trinity Fellowship. A process that began nearly two years ago has now become a reality. Our little independent church has now linked arms with other churches to partner in the gospel, endeavoring to spread the great news of Jesus throughout Merton, Lake Country and beyond.

Churches Need Churches

Thanks for all your prayers throughout this long journey. Thanks for exploring this partnership with us. Thanks for voting unanimously as a church to partner with Trinity Fellowship. Thanks for trusting your elders as we enter this next season at Grace Hill Church!

Up North

Our next youth night is scheduled for Saturday, December 13th from 4-8pm at the Enge's house. We will celebrate Christmas “Wisconsin” style. Bring your Wisconsin-themed (e.g.: Cheese, KwikTrip, Packers) “white-elephant” gift to contribute. And come dressed for a blistery cold winter up north.

Christmas Up North

The time will also include sharing a Brat Bar meal together, and then continuing our study asking “Tough Questions About Christianity.” This month's question is "Is there really only one true religion?" Please read Chapter 3 “Can Jesus be true for you but not for me?” in your books in preparation for our study and bring along any questions that you have.

Saturday, December 13th | 4-8pm

We currently meet once a month to learn and grow. Every meeting is different. Sometimes it's a party. Sometimes it's a service project. Often we have deep theological conversations. 7th-12th graders from inside and outside the church are welcome to join.

TFC Confession

For many, the word confession brings to mind admitting a fault—a crime, a sin, or a personal shortcoming. Although confessing sin is an important and healthy practice in the Christian life, the meaning of confession we are considering here is something different.

A Confession is simply a declaration of one’s belief.

Trinity Fellowship Churches’ commitment to the Confession of Faith in no way replaces their primary commitment to Scripture. The Confession simply articulates what the TFC elders understand the Bible to teach.

Many of you have a copy of the TFC Confession that looks like the one in the picture above. TFC has also created an easy to use online version that we encourage you to utilize when your hard copy is not available.

TFC has also created an online version of the Catechism.

If you’re wondering why a Confession is important, consider listening to a sermon by Toby Gayner from King of Grace Church, a TFC partner church in Haverhill, MA. And as a bonus, his English accent alone makes it worth your time.

As we approach this Christmas season and look forward with great hope at his second coming, let us reflect on the awesome work Jesus came to fulfill. It all began with a baby in a small Jewish town.

PROPHET
